Supplement for breastfeeding women
PROLACTIA® contains Fenugreek, Iodine and Malt Extract, in addition to being a source of Omega-3 Fatty Acids (EPA and DHA), Vitamin D3 and Red Yeast Rice. To see what the science says about these ingredients, consult the chart below.
Omega-3 and Omega-6 are classified as essential fatty acids because the human body absolutely needs them, but cannot produce them itself, so it must find them in the diet or as supplements. EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) are important, but DHA is especially important during pregnancy and during the early stages of the life of the child. After delivery, the level of DHA may remain low because breastfeeding transfers maternal reserves of DHA to the baby for the development of his brain.
